Grandparent's thoughts:

"At our age, we just can’t go shopping like we used to."

Scott's thoughts:

“I’m so happy to be on my own! Now it’s time to make it my own.”

Delia's thoughts:

"'Off-the-shelf' is nice for most people. But for me, store bought doesn’t represent my personality."

Mitch & Cam's thoughts:

"Our baby is one of a kind and we’d love to infuse some of her personality into her nursery"

The Solution

The Framework

Because we were creating a website that was not only a traditional eCommerce store, but also had a very important product customization aspect, ease of use was crucial. We needed a way to find the product quickly and add in steps for proofing the designs.

Initial wireframe sketches

Since products themselves feel stale. I felt it necessary to build an environment that showed how it could be used and what other products could also be paired in the room. Sell the vision—sell the product.

Branding

To make the items pop, I opted for a color pallet of mainly neutral colors. Doing this would allow a more harmonious feel, ensuring the products wouldn't clash and make the user feel at home.

The Final Product

What was accomplished?

The site allows the user to get from start to finish in very few steps. The flow mimics the “in-store” experience of a traditional brick and mortar store. Proof approval is done during the “add to cart” step to make checkout even faster.
