User Interface & User experience design

Whole Health Chiropractic

Whole Health Chiropractic opened its doors in 2014. Being a new business, the budget had to be closely managed. The website and other marketing efforts would have to be within their own abilities with the mindset of "something is better than nothing". Given the owner's solid reputation in the community, she quickly built a stong client base. It was time to push the business forward to be able to compete with other local businesses.

Art Director, Designer, Brand development, User surveys, Competitive analysis, Personas, User flows, Sketches/Wireframes, Prototyping, Coding

The Challenge

Because the company was essentially still a start-up, there were a few challenges that we needed to tackle:

  • Lack of both visual branding and messaging
  • Unprofessional website compared to local competition
  • Couldn't just add quick promotional offers
  • Took far too long to edit because they had to contact their ISP and submit change requests

The Clientele
(click on them to learn more!)

The client was having troubles because their current clientele was so drastically diverse and they still wanted to build an even stronger client base. So we Identified three main classifications:

Larry

Blue collar worker

Kathy

Athlete

Larry

Skeptic

Larry's thoughts:

"My time is precious. I don’t get a lot of time at home and I don’t want to spend it running around."

Kathy's thoughts:

“I’m in sports year-round. I enjoy them, but they really take a toll on me no matter how careful I am.”

Stanley's thoughts:

"I don’t to the doctor unless i'm dying. And I think chiropractors are nonsense."

What was learned

With Stanley for instance, we learned that through stubborness and fear of appearing foolish, he has convincenced himself that chiropractors will do no good for him. Stanley is looking for excuses and validation in order to deflect from his lack of knowledge.

Key to success:

The Solution

The Framework

The original message to the user needed to be refocused and disseminate both the company's offerings and knowledge in a more logical format. Their content was great, but the information was far too hard to get to in a reasonable timeframe.

The Rebrand

The exsisting brand was needing a pump up. I wanted to bring forward the essense of Whole Health Chiropractic by promoting the route of wellness and improving one's health through natural methods. Because of that, I wanted to keep the original lotus flower, but spin it into a lockup that held together a little better. Then pair it with a color pallet that is a little more relaxing.

The Final Product

What was accomplished?

The entire site is custom HTML code wrapped around a Wordpress site to allow the client to make quick edits and last minute deals. This also allows them the best of both worlds: A high-end custom website feel with the ease of Wordpress. The result is that the client now has a webite that fits their needs. It allows them to properly disseminate the information that their main demographics are expecting. Most importantly, it successfully allows them to edit their content quickly and easily.

  • Solid visual branding
  • Professional looking site
  • Incredibly easy to edit and add promotional offers
  • No longer needing to submit work order to ISP

"My new website is easier to navigate and helps my patients get a better feel of my practice. The web design made it more intuitive and user friendly. Dan created a beautiful website that went well beyond my expectations."
